A group of volunteers have formed a committee, WHIXPLAY, to look into the possibility of upgrading the playground facilities in the village. The committee is headed by Verity Bedford, Sophia Roberts and Lynsey Farnworth. As a first stage we would like feedback and input from villagers to establish whether there is a need/want to improve the Whixley playground facilities. We also need your help in deciding what is important to you when designing a village playground.

A questionnaire has been produced which is available in both online and paper formats. If you would like to fill this questionnaire in online (preferred), please visit the website at https://whixley.org/pg. If you would like to fill in a paper version, please pick up your copy at the village shop and drop it off completed either at the village shop (during opening hours) or in the parish council letterbox situated outside the shop.

The questionnaire also asks whether you would be interested in joining WHIXPLAY and assisting with the project and we would love to hear from you if you do.

Once demand has been determined work can commence on the necessary fundraising. Modern playground facilities are expensive and WHIXPLAY expects the project to take some time, but we are keen to involve the community and would like as many people as possible to provide the feedback we seek so that we can make this playground a real asset to the village.
