Whixley’s QE2 Commemoration Project is on track to be completed later this year, subject to the final push in local fundraising .

The Project Committee continues to invite local businesses, individuals and organisations to see how they might help in the final push to make the village’s church a more sustainable community asset through the addition of user-friendly hospitality and toilet facilities. As reported in last month’s Parish News, we are all greatly encouraged by the National Lottery Community Grant of £10,000 which now makes the project even more realisable. The picture shows children of the parish celebrating receipt of the award, along with parents and leaders , who currently meet in the village-hall due to the lack of essential basic facilities in the Parish church, which, of course, the Project aims to resolve for the benefit of all members of the community.

We invite members of the community and other supporters to make Donations on line via Bank sort code 40 23 12. Account 12505401 specifying “QE2 Project”. Your help in transforming the building for its greater future use by the Community will be greatly appreciated. If any members of the community feel able to host a Neighbourhood coffee morning or any other fund-raising event to which neighbours  and/or friends could be invited, we shall be pleased if you would consider such an initiative. Just let Joan Roper know so that we can support with any desired publicity and support.

With our thanks for any fund-raising effort which will enable the Project to be given lift-off this side of Christmas!
