Life goes on and quite a number of people are still shielding and may still need help so don’t forget we have our group of volunteers for each area of the village if you need anything. Books, jigsaws, magazines are available outside Bay House on Stonegate and our local shops continue to offer a great selection and are happy to take orders.

The latest Government advice is (full details on the village website):

Stay alert

We can all help control the virus if we all stay alert. This means you must:

STAY AT HOME AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
WORK FROM HOME IF YOU CAN
LIMIT CONTACT WITH OTHER PEOPLE
KEEP YOUR DISTANCE IF YOU GO OUT (2 METRES APART WHERE POSSIBLE)
WASH YOUR HANDS REGULARLY
DO NOT LEAVE HOME IF YOU OR ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD HAS SYMPTOMS.

Finally some of you may already be aware that NYCC has a fund available for those who find themselves in financial difficulties at this time. It is known as the North Yorkshire Local Access Fund (NYLAF).
Boroughbridge Community Care are able to make applications to this fund on behalf of anyone who may need it. The fund is sufficient for two weeks shopping or it can pay for utilities. It is usually available within 24 hours of application. The funds are forwarded in the form of an e -voucher.
