Since the establishment of the Whixley Women’s Institute in 1926 there have been many changes. The present-day Women’s Institute offers many exciting and varied experiences to all its members. Whixley Women’s Institute is the place to be if you:

are looking for friendship fun and a warm welcome
enjoy being introduced to new, informative and diverse topics
enjoy visiting places of interest
enjoy sharing a meal with friends
enjoy other entertainment

The Women’s Institute has a lot to offer supporting and helping the local communities in many ways

Our meetings continue to be held in Whixley Village Hall. Our AGM was held on 3rd November and I am pleased to say Joan Dobson was re-elected as President, and the committee has been joined by two new members.

The picture below is of the large Acer tree Acer tree planted on Saturday 24th November 1990 to commemorate 75th Anniversary of the Womens Institute in Britain. Given by Johnson’s of Whixley and planted on a wet morning by John Richardson helped by Jenny Hullah, Cynthia Myers and Sue Bailey.
