Whixley Village Hall is at the hub of the community. It’s the central venue for events and activities throughout the year.

Facilities for Hire

Whixley Village Hall is a welcoming and versatile community space which has recently undergone upgrading of the heating, lighting and sound systems as well as a full redecoration.

The hall offers flexible accommodation, with a brand new accessible entrance to the main hall. Facilities include:

  • The hall: with a stage, beautiful sprung wooden dance floor, seating for up to 100 people, and a fully fitted bar, which can be staffed on request, ideal for performances, receptions, and larger gatherings.
  • The Community Lounge: a more intimate space for up to 20 people, perfect for smaller groups or breakout sessions.
  • A large well equipped kitchen adds even more flexibility, making the hall an excellent choice for meetings, parties, wedding receptions, and self-catered events.

Accessibility

The hall benefits from a new fully compliant disabled access ramp, with hand rails and an electrically operated door. The front entrance has been enhanced by the installation of new steps and handrails. Both entrances have improved lighting.

Over the years, the hall has hosted a wide range of activities – from theatre productions and musical evenings to pop–up-pubs, children’s and family parties, weddings and funeral teas, sporting clubs and exercise classes. It’s also a great venue for workshops and evening courses.

The Snooker Room

The Snooker Room is on the first floor and is accessed by a separate entrance and staircase. There is a full-size snooker table available for use by members of the Whixley Snooker club or by arrangement for visitors.

The Playing Fields and Outdoor Resources

Outside there is a large playing field fitted with five-a-side football nets. There is also a fully equipped children’s play area with slides, climbing frames and roundabout.

Defibrillator

The Village Hall now has a Public Access Defibrillator!

With the support of North Yorkshire County Council, the Village Hall Committee has purchased a Public Access Defibrillator, (PAD). The defibrillator is located at the front of the Hall
