Can you help with the FINAL PUSH??

Previously known as the Jubiloo Project, prior to the death of our late Queen Elizabeth, and following the receipt of many donations from Charitable Trusts, local businesses, fundraising events and friends from within the community, we now have “in the pot”  £70k, following a generous donation of £10k from the Garfield Weston Foundation.

Other donations which have helped to reach this amazing sum in a variety of ways have recently come from Jenny Hullah and Allan Watson in memory of loved ones recently departed, and from Nick Gibsone on behalf of the Whixley Wanderers Walking Football Club, along with grants from The Colin and Sylvia Shepherd Trust, and the Rank Foundation. A healthy £ 577 came from The BIG BREAKFAST organised by Enid Fisher and Joan Roper which was enjoyed by all comers in late November. Our thanks go to all who supported that community event.

As a local joker quipped “I can feel a Loo coming on!”

The provision of a running mains-water supply, and the fresh flush of toilet water , along with our ability to make copious cups of refreshing tea will certainly transform  our  historic church building into a much more user-friendly and hospitable community asset for this and  all future generations to use to the benefit of the wider community.

HOWEVER, as  we still need to raise £20k before we can authorise the contractors to start work on the project, we are inviting more local businesses and more members of the community to help “finish the job” by donating gifts in memory of loved ones or simply in thanksgiving for our local heritage and for our many blessings in living in such pleasant God-given surroundings, and within such a friendly, vibrant community.

Please make your gift by sending a cheque to our Treasurer, Mr Barry Smith tel 01423 330577, or by Bank Transfer payable To “Whixley with GH PCC/Jubiloo”

HSBC Bank account 12505401 sort 40-23-12

Or, if you would like more information, please speak with any member of the Project Team:  Enid Fisher, Simon Gardner, Barry Atkinson, Barry Smith, Joan Roper, George Rowden,  Rev Sarah Feaster, or Dick Watson,  Project Sec on 01943 430108.

Your help in enabling us to finish the job this year will be appreciated more than ever. Every gift, large or small, is of huge value to this final fund-raising appeal. Please give if you can.  THANK YOU
