FROM NYCC Highways

You may be aware of the signage which has recently appeared on the B6265 advising of a road closure.

We do apologise for the late notice but an opportunity to bring forward the surface dressing of the B6265 became available in our programme. We appreciate it has come soon after the recent patching works so we apologise for the additional disruption. However, we would like to provide you with a little more information on the closure days and the work taking place, which is as follows…

Today Friday 22nd May – mobile works to remove cats eyes on wider width carriageway areas so no road closure today. Traffic will be able to pass.

Tuesday 26th May – Friday 29th May – ROAD CLOSED to remove remaining cats eyes and carriageway edging works.

Saturday 30th May – ROAD CLOSED for surface dressing. This process is weather dependent so if it rains, this will be delayed.

Week commencing Monday 1st June – the road will be open for at least 7 days for the newly laid surface dressing to bed in.

Week commencing Monday 8th June – ROAD CLOSED for sweeping, and for the lining and road markings to be replaced (this too is weather dependent)

I hope the above is useful however, please bear in mind that the surface dressing and lining works could be subject to a slight change depending on the weather. When the B6265 is closed, fully signed diversion routes will be in operation and traffic ambassadors positioned at the closure points will be able to assist in case of query. Please look out for the signage on site.

We would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any disruption these works may cause and would again request everyone’s cooperation to help ensure an efficiently and safely executed project.

Regards
