As 2024 draws to a close I would like to wish you all my best wishes for 2025.  This year has been challenging for a lot of residents and decisions made by North Yorkshire Council have impacted severely on a lot of your lives. I have found the numbers of cases where my help has been needed have increased. This has been challenging and I’m hoping in the main we reached satisfactory conclusions.

There are a lot of issues carried forward and I hope that we will get these sorted early in 2025. The Council’s budget setting process is underway and I cannot see how we can reduce the debt without compromising services; you should have seen a request for your opinion on how NYC should spend your money, please reply.

On a positive note the Green Santa fundraiser ended the year on a high with you showing that in times of difficulty this community can still help others, an amazing 176 presents for the children of single parents who have been victims of domestic and or sexual violence now in safe havens; see the work of IDAS on their website. Also over £200 in donations well done.
