Charles Bouchier Cass (standing) & James Oliver Cass had their origins in Whixley and are mentioned by Roger in the 2014 video elsewhere on this site. They died in action just a few short weeks before the end of the First World War.
Their families are still in touch from Australia and add:
The Cass family left the village in 1914 to live in Pyap West, South Australia and held a reunion in June 2014 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of emigration. Many members of the family have returned to visit Whixley over the years and the family still feels a connection to your village that was our home many years ago. Thank you again for researching & remembering our two uncles who died in WW1, so sad for the family only 5 days apart and so close to war ending. We like to feel we still have a connection to the village that our family came from.
