On Friday 1st October the Harvest Supper and Auction returned to the Village Hall. Everyone enjoyed being able to get together again and share an excellent supper of pork casserole and apple pie prepared in the smart new kitchen.

The auction of home-made produce donated by the diners and donations from two local businesses, was conducted in his inimitable fashion by Jonty Lightowler. Along with a raffle and ‘Guess the girth of the pumpkin’ £2,135 was raised for the two churches in our parish.

Enid Fisher, on behalf of the church, thanked the many helpers, those who set and decorated the tables, the cooks, kitchen helpers and especially the two young men who, with Annabelle, did a great job of washing up.

Thanks are due too, to the village hall for generously hosting the event without charge.
