We do now have some guidance from the CofE and so all our church services (public gatherings on Sundays or week days) are suspended until further notice. See below:
In light of the Government guidance around non-essential contact, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have issued advice that public worship is suspended until further notice. Churches should be open where possible but with no public worship services taking place. Prayers can be said by clergy and ministers on behalf of everyone and churches should consider ways of sharing this with the wider community.
At the risk of repeating the message I wonder if you could check whether the people you know who come to church or who are on rotas know that we are having to stop our services, spreading the message not the virus!
Church wardens – I will send a notice out to go on the doors of the churches if you could put those up (or ask someone who is allowed out!) to put them up that would be a great help.
If you are emailing or calling people do let them know to ask for help or to call someone should they just want to chat – I know that the wardens and myself are happy to be contacted and I think all of you are happy to talk on the phone even if you are self isolating.
Please keep safe and you are assured of my prayers and the prayers of the church community
