CHRISTIAN AID WEEK held this year between Sunday 10th to Saturday 16th May has fallen victim, like all public events, to coronavirus. The Green Hammerton lunch and our village collection are not taking place and this applies country-wide. CA, like all other charities, will have a huge cut in its annual fund-raising, about £6,000,000 in its case. Last year our two villages raised just over £1500 for CA, a very generous response to lift people out of poverty all over the world. CA is also a major campaigner for action on global warming and sustainable living.
All CA’s fund raising is being done on-line this year. If you would like to make a donation you can look up Christian Aid on the web at www.christianaid.org or email info@christianaid.org. It would be good to think that we might do our bit to make up the shortfall.
