The campaign to try and stop the building of a huge sugar beet processing plant next to the incinerator on the A168 is gathering pace. At a meeting held in Marton-cum-Grafton Paul Gill (email: paul.gill@stopthebeetfactory.co.uk ) was elected chairman of the campaign which has been branded Stop the Beet Factory, focussing attention on the impact of the plant on local roads and the potential for smells as were experienced in York when a plant was active there.

Visit the campaign’s website www.stopthebeetfactory.co.uk for further information.
