Whixley Parish Council
The Parish Council kindly requests residents park their vehicles considerately and safely for the benefit of everyone and in accordance with the Highway Code.
Parking on the pavement can obstruct and seriously inconvenience pedestrians, people in wheelchairs/ with visual impairments and people with prams or pushchairs. Equally, parking on the grass verges is unacceptable, especially at this time of year, because of the unsightly damage and mess it causes to verges which cannot recover until the summer months.
It costs NYCC and HBC thousands of pounds to repair pavements and grass verges that have been damaged by vehicles parking on them.
We also take this opportunity to highlight the speed restrictions in our village 30mph in Whixley & 20mph throughout Whixley Gate. Let’s all work together to create a village where all cars are parked considerately and safely!
