“The Bishop of Leeds, The Rt Revd Nicholas Baines, is pleased to announce that the Revd Sarah Feaster, currently serving as Assistant Curate at St James, Manston in the Leeds Episcopal Area has been appointed as Vicar of the United Benefice of Great Ouseburn, Little Ouseburn, Marton-cum-Grafton and Whixley with Green Hammerton in the Ripon Episcopal Area.”
This was the message, read in all our benefice churches on Sunday, May 14th, that had been eagerly awaited by us all, and I’m sure everyone is delighted at the news.
The Rev Sarah and her family will come to us in July and the details of her Installation as our priest into the benefice will be announced in next month’s Parish News.
I do think it’s right and proper now to thank all those who have added extra responsibilities onto their already heavy workloads.
These include Rev Joan Roper, our non- stipendiary priest, who has assumed most effectively, a major leadership role, our Churchwardens and our ministry team, plus the group of those men and women responsible for setting up and interviewing prospective candidates. Hopefully, our faithful congregation members have noticed little change, apart from having the pleasure of welcoming new faces into our pulpits!
